Position Summary: Manage the review of returns, tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance functions of accounting staff in order to meet the goals of the tax department as they relate to the needs of the firm.

Position Duties:

  • Demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge required for tax compliance.
  • Must be familiar and adhere to regulations at the federal, state and local level and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Reviews federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Builds relationships and interacts with clients in order to provide excellent planning, consulting and strategic expertise.
  • Responsible for reviewing key complex returns for risks and opportunities to provide additional service.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technical tax requirements.
  • Seeks to improve own performance by attending required and elective education programs for level and function and sets annual career objectives.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead and direct the work of others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Base Salary: $100,000 + potential relocation/signing bonus (if not hired through 3rd party recruiter)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years relevant work experience required
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous tax experience in public accounting firm required
  • CPA Certification required
  • Drive to contribute to a dynamic collaborative team environment
